LDRS Creative September Release Day 4

Hello everyone! It’s the last day of the LDRS Creative blog hop and my favorite theme of all – Winter and Christmas! I absolutely love all things Christmas – especially stamps and cards! Here is a bit about the new LDRS Creative winter and Christmas products:

Day 4 is all about WINTER and CHRISTMAS!

I decided to give layered stamping another try and grabbed the Cardinal Seasons set for my card today.

I stamped and die cut several leafy branches. I used hybrid inks in Lantern Yellow, Key Lime Pie, Four Leaf, and Evergreen for the leaves and Lipstick Jungle for the berries. I also stamped the branch in Coffee Bean and die cut that.

The birds are the really special part of this set. Cardinal Seasons is part of the new Petal Pushers line, so there are dies to make the birds’ wings 3D! Instead of reds for a cardinal, I decided to use blues for blue jays! I stamped the birds twice with Swimming Hole, Mrs. Periwinkle, Raven, and Dan-D-Lion inks and colored the scarf yellow with Copic markers before die cutting both identical images. Then, I used the wing dies on one image before adhering that one on top of the birds without die cut wings. That way, when the wings are bent up, there’s still an image beneath.

I wanted a bit of a sparkly, snowy feel in the background, so I used one of the new Scalloped Circle Frame dies on a some white glitter cardstock and adhered to an A2 piece of white woodgrain cardstock. I built up my foliage and branch scene, popping some pieces up with foam tape for extra dimension. I finished by stamping the sentiment on light blue cardstock with Watermark ink and embossing with white before adding it to the card with more foam tape.
