For my card, I decided to pair not-so-traditional pink with lots of sparkly gold to create a fun holiday shaker!

I started by blending hybrid inks in Ballet Slipper and Cardinal Red with the domed blending tools. The rounded shape makes it soooo easy to avoid harsh lines! I then die cut several stars from Lawn Fawn Holiday Gold sparkle cardstock using the Nested Star dies. I attached those around the background with double sided adhesive.

I made a frame using the largest of Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Rectangles and Small Stitched Rectangles. I stamped my sentiment from Big and Bold Christmas in VersaMark ink on vellum and embossed with gold glitter embossing powder. I attached the vellum sentiment to the back of my frame and then added a piece of acetate before applying foam tape all the way around. I added a pile of clear and snowflake sequins to the center and sealed it up! Shake, shake, shake!

I hope you like my sparkly holiday shaker! Ready for the best part?

  1. THis is a lovely card! Filled with sparkly goodness! We have so many traditions from finding the perfect tree, to dated ornaments, to photos with Santa! Can’t wait to celebrate this year with the 2 1/2 year old and 7 month old!

  9. That card is so cool!!! I haven’t tried shaker cards … but I may try it now. Super cute!! Christmas for me is filled with so many memories. My favorite memory is being with my Grama and seeing what color her tree was each year … either traditional (multi color w/ silver icicles), or a Chrismon tree with white/gold ornaments (all of which were hand-made). This will be our 2nd Christmas without her. I would give anything to see her tree again (she was 102 the last time she put her tree up … She would have been 104 on Dec. 3rd.) I miss her and all her traditions!

  13. First shaker card I’ve seen for Christmas. Love pink for cards. I use pink and blue a lot. Fun memory, pouring rain when I took some children to look at lights. We bought garbage bags and put them on over our clothes and away we went to all the walk thru lights. Funny we had the park to ourselves. Had a blast, ice creme after. It was grands, niece, nephew.

One holiday memory is searching for the perfect tree! We’d go out to the local tree farm and scout around for the tree we wanted. Had to be just right! Drove my husband crazy, but my daughter and I loved it!
