Heffy Doodle and InkOn3 Blog Hop

Hello friends! I am super excited because today I am participating in the Heffy Doodle and InkOn3 Collaboration Blog Hop! Our design teams have come together to share some amazing inspiration featuring Heffy Doodle and Inkon3 products, and there are prizes up for grabs, too! For my card, I decided to use the InkOn3 Atelier inks as watercolors! I just love how versatile these inks are. I smooshed several colors onto a watercolor palette so I could paint some cute Heffy Doodle images! I used Marilyn Red, Bee Sting Yellow, Peacock Blue, Twiggy Brown, and Paint It Black for my palette. By starting with the primary colors, I was easily able to mix them to create any color I wanted.

I stamped my images from Heffy Doodle Otter Side and Heffy Doodle Oceans of Love in VersaFine Onyx Black on the smooth side of Ranger watercolor paper. I love the smooth side of this paper for stamping images, and it’s the brightest white watercolor paper I’ve found. I painted my images with the Atelier inks, then added white gel pen details and cut them out with the matching dies once dry.

For my background, I used the more textured side of Ranger watercolor paper and did light washes of color using the Atelier inks for some water and sand. I then did a light wash of InkOn3 Pixie Dust over the sand and splattered the water with bigger drops of Pixie Dust for a bubble effect. I could not get the shimmer to photograph well, but it really is outstanding. Pixie Dust is now my go to for shimmer splatters and lives permanently on my desk with my trusty white and gold acrylic paints.

I used Heffy Doodle Skinny Imperial Rectangle Frames with Heffy Doodle Hint of Mint cardstock to frame my watercolor background. I attached my images, popping a few up with foam tape for dimension. I added a sentiment I made with a combination of Heffy Doodle Otter Side and Heffy Doodle More Classic Sentiments stamped in black and finished with a few aquamarine jewels.
