Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps Blog Hop

Hello friends! I am so excited to be participating in a blog hop today for Heffy Doodle and Honey Bee Stamps! The Honey Bee Stamps new Love Letters collection is just adorable, so I jumped at the chance to combine some of it with my Heffy Doodle cuties! And if you keep reading, there may be an opportunity to win some prizes 😉

For my card, I started by creating a background with the Honey Bee Stamps Hugs Enclosed stamp set. I stamped the large envelopes background onto white cardstock in Pinkfresh Studio Ocean Breeze ink. I then used the Heffy Doodle Imperial Stitched Rectangles to trim it down and add the stitched border. I attached my stamped piece to Heffy Doodle Simply Teal-icious cardstock and trimmed to leave only a thin border. I added it to a Heffy Doodle Oyster Shell card base and set aside.

I stamped the two closed envelopes from Hugs Enclosed several times with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with Copics before cutting them out with the matching dies. I then stamped the gulls from Heffy Doodle You Go, Gull and the mailbox from Heffy Doodle Yappy Happy Mail with Lawn Fawn Jet Black and colored with Copics. I had to include the thumbs up gull even though he’s not holding a letter – he just makes me smile! After I die cut these images out, I arranged them on my card front, popping a few gulls up with foam tape for dimension.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “happy mail” phrase from Hugs Enclosed onto more Simply Teal-icious cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed with white. It ended up not being quite bold enough, so I repeated my embossing for a nice solid, raised sentiment. I cut this out with the matching die and added it to my card with foam tape. I really love how Honey Bee adds dies to cut out sentiments! To finish, I add a few Honey Bee Stamps Strawberry Ice acrylic hearts on top of the heart seals on the envelopes.
