Pretty Pink Posh May Release Blog Hop

Hello friends! It’s release day over at Pretty Pink Posh and we are celebrating with a blog hop! This new release has a little bit for everyone and I am so excited to share what I have been working on with you all this month! But for today, I decided to make a pretty card filled with hummingbirds that combines the old with the new! Make sure to read on after my card for information on how to enter to win some prizes!

When I was deciding what to create for the hop, the cute little hummingbird from Spring Circles immediately caught my eye. The hummingbird from Hummingbird Thanks has always been a favorite, so I decided to combine the old hummingbird with the new on one card! I started by repeatedly stamping the hummingbirds from Hummingbird Thanks onto white cardstock with VersaMark ink. I embossed them with white, then blended Distress Oxides in Kitsch Flamingo, Peacock Feathers, and Cracked Pistachio for a pretty background. After wiping the excess ink off the embossed images, I made fine splatters over the inking for a bit of extra interest.

I stamped the hummingbird circle from Spring Circles in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink on white cardstock and colored with Copics to match my ink blended background. I cut it out using the matching die, then cut the pretty tag shape that is part of the Spring Circles dies from more white cardstock. I used the new Mini Polka Dots stencil with Lawn Fawn Manatee ink to add a bit of interest to the tag, then added my Copic colored circle to the top of it with foam tape before adding the whole tag to the card. I stamped the “you are” from the new Flower Bouquets set in black, then die cut the “special” from the You Are Special Script dies three times from black cardstock to finish the sentiment. For a little something extra, I scattered a few Pearl White jewels around for sparkle.

Thank you so much for hopping along and stopping at my blog! Make sure to leave a comment by 11:59 PM PST on May 9, 2021 for the chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Pretty Pink Posh shop! Winners will be announced on the Pretty Pink Posh blog, and there will be three gift cards given – one for each day of the hop! That’s right – this is only day one of a three day hop! 1. Lovely inspiration. You really used the products wisely and made some beautiful finished products. Loved the colors. Also, like your picture with the coffee cup and the rollers in your hair. Reminds me of when I was a teenager in the 60s and we used to set our hair on beer cans so we could have “big” hair.

  2. I have long considered buying the Hummingbird Thanks set. Now may be the time to do it since I can get this cute little hummingbird image as part of the Spring Circles set. Your ink blending is beautiful and I love how you brought in the stencil of the tiny dots for the tag portion of the card.

  6. I love your card! I’m really into hummingbird stamps and dies right now because my sister keeps finding little nests and baby birds growing up outside her front door! I would love to make a card like yours!

  7. My favorite cards have birds and/or flowers. This tiny hummingbird would go so well with it’s earlier version. Can’t wait to snag this cutie! Thanks for your great card and the inspiration to create!
