Heffy Doodle New Release Blog Hop

Hello friends! Today I am so happy to be participating in the Heffy Doodle Release Blog Hop! The new release is fabulous! It is now available for purchase from Heffy Doodle and official retailers, and we are celebrating with lots of inspiration and a giveaway, too! Plus, there is a special new stamp set available as part of a promotion! Make sure to read to the bottom for all the info!

For my card today, I combined several new and old stamp sets for a fun, beachy light up card!

I used Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink and the Cloudy Skies stencil to make my clouds on white cardstock. I cut waves out of Ice Blast cardstock using the new Breaking Waves dies and added them to the card. For the beach, I cut a piece of tan cardstock using one of the Stitched Slopey Joes dies and added Copic dots for texture. I die cut the entire background with the largest Imperial Stitched Rectangle to add the border.

I stamped my images from You Go, Gull, A Little Shellfish, Sealy Friends, Otter Side, and Lil Lighthouse in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I added “Push Here” from Interactively Yours to the oyster before cutting everything out with the matching dies. I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and used the Lil Lighthouse dies to add the dots around the lighthouse for the light to shine through. Once the card front was complete, I grabbed a second piece of white cardstock to make the light up mechanism.

Here is the inside of my card. I used the EZ-Light from Pear Blossom Press and holy cow is it easy! I really think anyone can make a light up card with this product. All I had to do was mark on the white cardstock where I wanted my lights and button to be based on my card design. Then, I popped the battery into the pack and used strong ScorTape to adhere the switch in place. I wrapped the light cords around, securing with more ScorTape until the three lights were positioned were I wanted them. I put one behind the “light” of the lighthouse and the other two to shine through those die cut holes. Two layers of foam tape to adhere the card front to and voila! Light up card!

So cool! And so easy! No circuits to tape up or anything!

Right now, you can grab the Lil Lighthouse stamp and die to make your own light up lighthouse card for free with any £45 purchase!

Plus, to celebrate the new release Heffy Doodle will be giving away a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle Store! Make sure to comment on each stop in the hop to be entered for your chance to win. The winner will be selected randomly and announced on Saturday, July 25th on the Heffy Doodle Blog. So please hop along with us!
