Sunny Studio 5th Birthday Hop

Hello friends! I am so happy to be participating in Sunny Studio‘s 5th Birthday Blog Hop today! I love this company, and it’s owner, Mendi, is just the best! It is truly an honor to be on their design team! I am thrilled that they are celebrating five years! So, since we are celebrating Sunny Studio’s birthday, I thought it only fitting to make a birthday card with some of the brand new holiday release! I was so excited to see penguins in this release and had to use them right away!

I started by blending Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, and Milled Lavender for a light aurora look. I splattered the piece with white acrylic paint and InkOn3 Pixie Dust for shimmer. I die cut a snow drift from white cardstock using the new Slimline Nature Borders and added a bit of the same colors to the bottom edge to peek through the vellum I was planning. I used the same Slimline Nature Border to cut my vellum for the ice. I then ran all the layers through my die cutting machine with the new Frilly Frames Quatrefoil frame to add the stitched border.

I stamped the penguins and fish from Penguin Pals, the igloo from Winter Scenes, the present from North Pole, and the party hats from Purrfect Birthday in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with Copics. I added a few white gel pen highlights and cut everything out with the matching dies before adhering to my card. I popped a few pieces up with foam tape for dimension too. I stamped the sentiment from Penguin Pals in Pinkfresh Studio Tidal Pond – it’s a lovely deep teal color! I finished with a few Studio Katia Iridescent Crystals for extra sparkle.
